The Ergo Company is a majority Black-owned South African film production company. We are a global content studio committed to producing a minimum of four feature films annually, with budgets ranging from R6 to R20 million.

Our content speaks to audiences in their own languages, reflects reality honestly, and changes how people think. We have raised more than R150 million in finance over four years and developed more than 20 films in production.

Dumi Gumbi

Dumi Gumbi

Producer & Executive Producer

With a background in Economics and Filmmaking from Boston and a Management Certificate from Wits Business School, Dumi rejuvenated the South African animation industry in the early 2000s. He currently manages a slate of 25 film projects in various stages of production, with notable credits including Gog'Helen, Mrs Right Guy, The Tokoloshe, and the 3D CG animation film Head Space.

Cati Weinek

Producer, Writer & Cultural Activist

An African history graduate from Wits University and archival researcher in documentary film, Cati is a founding member of the New Moon Rising collective and member of both the Independent Producers' Organisation and Writers Guild of South Africa. She has completed international programmes with Screen Australia, the British Film Institute, and the Erich Pommer Institute in Berlin.
